New User - Thanks for PixelPost!
Hi!
Tonight, I downloaded PixelPost for the first time. I thought I would give it a shot and try it out. I've had a photoblog since 6/2005 and have used Wordpress to power it. Now, I love Wordpress as a blogging tool - but as a photoblogging tool, it's not so hot. I've tried all the different Wordpress photo gallery plugins and just wasn't happy with any of the results. Earlier this eve I gave PixelPost a try and a few hours later, I ditched my Wordpress powered photoblog and am currently bring the content of that over to my new PixelPost photoblog. It was super easy to install and set up - and I've designed a template of my own to use with it (the template is still a work in progress - - but it's getting there!) My photoblog is at http://snappingphotos.com I'm using the lightbox addon - - with the full sized link and the autoresize. I don't currently have the autoresize addon working - - it's all installed correctly, but it's not resizing the photos or creating the fullsized photos - so that's something I have to work on yet. In the meantime, I've been creating the fullsize photos on my own and uploading them to the images directory. But - I've got pretty darned far on the set up and design of it considering I only just installed it today. That's quite a testimonial for how user friendly it is to work with - - excellent job on the development of this tool! I also design, develop and host blogs for a living. Whenever I've had clients request a photoblog - I've always used MT with some custom templates to power it. I can say I'll not be doing that any longer . . I'll be recommending PixelPost to my clients from now on I think! Just wanted to say KUDOS!

Welcome here, Lisa!
I feel pleased to read your message (and I think I speak for the whole team here) As the most posts deal with questions and problems, positive feedback is also very appreciated! And by the way, best whishes for your future (I saw the wedding photo at your blog!) |

Connie - thank you for the well wishes. We've only been married a little over two months...so the shine hasn't worn off, even a little
![]() Geo - thank you, as well. The template is something I had been working on for a different Wordpress project of mine. I never got around to doing it - so I decided to use it for my photoblog, instead. Sounds like you guys get your fair share of support requests around here. Take it as a good sign that you've got a decent app that folks are (more than) interested in! I wouldn't say that I didn't have "any" problems -- I ran into a few... but did my own troubleshooting.. along with some very helpful threads in the forums here. Cheers!

very nice.
only two suggestions: 1) you removed the ability to click on the photo to see the previous photo. it might just be a personal thing but it drives me nuts when i can't click on a photo in a photoblog and go to the previous photo. 2) your site is not valid XHTML. i think it has to do with the delicious link, maybe try and replace the & with & - obviously if you are happy with the site then who realy cares if it's valid and if you don't care then you probably would want to remove the valid XHTML link other then that i really like it. |

It was the delicious, etc links that were breaking the xhtml validation. I validated it, then added those links later and didn't go back to validate after the fact. lazy coder syndrome, i guess ![]() On the previous image on click - I think that got removed when I was playing around with the lightbox/fullsize link thing. I agree - I like that functionality in photoblogs - - got it back in now, though. Thanks for the feedback! Cheers!
