Okay, the problem is that pixelpost has created the database for you so your restore of the backup is failing. What you need to do in PhpMyAdmin is go into your database and drop all of the tables. Do that by checking all the tables on the first page, then selecting Delete from the dropdown below the table list.

Now, without going to your web page (so pixelpost doesn't try to create the tables ) restore your old database using PhpMyAdmin. Do that by going to the SQL tab and loading your textfile in using the browse button.

Now, all of those tables should have returned. Go to your pixelpost admin and make sure it works. Now go to your options pane and update anything you need to change for the new site.

Good luck.

ok, deleted, and tried to upload, error:

Database db120881588 running on db176.perfora.net

Error
There is a chance that you may have found a bug in the SQL parser. Please examine your query closely, and check that the quotes are correct and not mis-matched. Other possible failure causes may be that you are uploading a file with binary outside of a quoted text area. You can also try your query on the MySQL command line interface. The MySQL server error output below, if there is any, may also help you in diagnosing the problem. If you still have problems or if the parser fails where the command line interface succeeds, please reduce your SQL query input to the single query that causes problems, and submit a bug report with the data chunk in the CUT section below:

Well, I am guessing the problem has to do with localhost...I dont think I use localhost anymore, because database is stored at db176.perfora.net. I can give the MySQL on request if anyone wants to analyze...

Hi there,

I will need to move my PP install to a new host too.

I know how to backup my DB and my files from my previous host. I will keep the same subdomain name. But the DB name/login/passowrd are going to change and I don't get how PP will know these new information.

Should I relaunch the install on the new host or is there a trick?

You can manually edit the pixelpost.php file located in the includes/ folder.

Thank You.

Is that easy to change the subdomain name? (I must admit that I haven't search for this so far)

I would like to do the migration in 2 steps. First move all the files+db and check that everything works. And only after that I could use my domain name with my new hosting provider.

Yes, it's that easy.

Once you edit the pixelpost.php file with the new database info. Login to your admin panel and goto the options page. Update the site url and you should be done...
