Addon: JBG Map v1.5 (Google Map addon)

New topic start
A couple of months ago Jon Bulava wrote the excellent JBG Map addon. The original version can be found in this thread.

I made some adjustments and added some new features to this addon. As of today the complete list of changes include:

Quote:
* Fixed the unable to save settings bug (has to do with REGISTER_GLOBALS)
* Pictures not published yet are not shown on the map
* Added an address search option in the admin section (makes it easier to place a marker for a picture)
* Make all output HTML 4.0 strict compliant
* Based on information in Pixelpost Forum added a new tag: <JBG_PICTOMAP> for showing the location of the picture
* Locations of previous images can be seen when editting the location of an image (as requested on the forum)
* Added a new option: Zoomlevel when showing the location of the picture. This enables a flexible zoomlevel.
* Added language file support
* Bigger map in the admin section
* Bug fix: the map is now automatically loaded when searching for an address
This new version can be downloaded here.

I've moved all the relevant old posts from the original thread to this new one.

Please continue your discussion on this modified version here.

I added some more functionality. I noticed future postings were displayed on the map. Since this is something I wouldn't I changed a query:
code removed, is implemented in the download

This will prevent the selection of images which haven't been posted yet.

schonhose,

Great work. Thanks. Just checked it out. I have my map page showing more of a birds eye view. Do you think the it is possible to modify the code to go into the map more? Just wondering.

Thanks,
Y

Could you explain in further detail what you would like to see? I find it hard to understand your question at the moment (the flu might have something to do with this)

In the meantime, I've checked your page and found that the About page is seriously broken in Firefox.

Hi S,

Hope you feel better.

As you can see from my map, I have it looking at the Atlantic Ocean, since I have images in Ireland and the US. So when you using the link you created, it will show the image point with information but at a global scale. What i am wondering is could the link you created center in the map then zoom in on the map?

What are you seeing on the about page with Firefox? I am currently using firefox and it seems ok. I know the calendar is not working well, but that is something within the add on code itself. I have posted a note in the forum.

Thanks,
Y

Ok, I now understand what you mean. What you want is possible, open the JBGMap addon file and look for the line (somewhere around 670)

code removed, is implemented in the download
