What's going on. I've never seen so much SPAM around here. It's been a while since I've signed up. Is there a CAPTCHA or anything of the like for sign-ups?

It is but SPAMers solved problem of CAPTCHA some time ago.

SPAM in PP or SPAM in the forum?

there is one forum affected, camera gear, and we are discussing to close this forum in the near future ...

we do our best to delete forum spam as soon as it arises
you can always report a posting to be spam, there is an icon for that in every posting...

this is a problem of the forum software ... and a problem of computerized mankind, because if there are idiots there are idiots everywhere ;=)

Not only "Camera gear" forum affected by SPAMmers... I think, solution is only in the improvement of the CAPTCHA test (or disallow creating new topics by users without any messages). I am not understanding, why vBulletin doesn't make this test more better?

Problem is other - vBulletin is so nice and so popular that attackers made improvments in their SPAM BOTs to attack with success vBulletin boards.
