New Addon - Image Rating
I have uploaded a new addon which should be available as soon as it is reviewed. It gives each of your photos a 5 star rating. Users just have to click on a star to rate your photo. It only allows one rating per person per picture. Hovering over any of the stars will give the current rating for that photo.
See http://www.shiftedexposure.com for an example. The images I have included for the rating stars work best on a white background. If anyone produces other images, send them to me and I will include them in future revisions. Images must be 12x12 and you need three. One for the star turned on, one off and one for when the user hovers over it. I didn't add too much extra functionality yet, I wanted to get peoples' feedback first. For the next release, I would like to add top rated photo lists, top voted on images, stuff like that. Let me know what you want and I will get to it. |

That very neat! Great addon! perfect!
I test it on my local server and I'm going to use it on my website. Thank you ![]() some points: 1) it is possible to add this to index.php instead of template and there for the rating results would be availabe else where. (in archive/ popup comments...) 2) putting the files in the root is not clean. we are using a new folder named 'include' in the next version of auxilary files. 3) you can use Onload fucntion instead of changing the body tag. it is simpler for users who are not familiar with html coding.

some more isssues:
1) when user move the mouse over the stars the exact star under the pointer is lit up but I think the whole stars from 1 to the pointer position should be lit up. 2) the screen tip of the links is not the same as you have shown in your example. if it popup the vote number the user is choosing it would be great.

You have some good ideas here. I will see what I can do. As for the popup not being the same as the code, I must have included an older version of the file. I will check and get a new version out when I get a chance.

another:
at the first, when there is no votes available the average score is empty but it should be 0 or something.

I have just about finished most of the changes you mentioned. I will upload it as soon as possible. For anybody wanting to try this addon out, wait for version 1.1, it is MUCH easier to install.

Version 1.1 has been uploaded with the recommended changes. Thanks for the suggestions, I like it a lot better.
You can now use this addon on any page that has an image_id. It should work in your comment pop-ups now. You also do not need the javascript file any more, nor do you have to modify the body tag. Just drop it in and add the tags to your template. 8) |
