Hurricane "Kyrill"
A glance on Hurracane "Kyrill", viewed from our garden last evening:
http://www.blog.uhlig.at/index.php?showimage=382 We were really lucky, house and garden are undamaged. Three gardens around ours lost really big trees: one 30m Thuja lies flat across the lawn, a 20m birch hangs in a patio roof and the biggest one, an about 35m spruce, fell onto the street and stopped the bus from going on. Roads are still closed because of too much broken wood in, trains don't go from Cologne to Essen, school roof is kaput, but we are all alive :-) KArin |

I am glad, Karin, that there was no damage...
I was stuck in south of germany and had to fly back by plane, all trains stopped... but I am home now and everything ok... |

I couldn't believe seeing so many planes starting and landing at Dusseldorf Airport in the evening of January 18th.
It must have been awfully joggled in there... But good you arrived well at home :-) KArin |
