PP Simple dark - colour & navigation?

Hello

I am new to this forum and to pixelpost which I just started using a couple of days ago. I'm impatient though, so I think my photoblog is nearly ready apart from a few minor things - at least I think its nearly ready, all my technical skills and experience in web design/coding has been learnt in the last couple of days creating my photo blog and one standard html page

I just have a couple of questions at the moment, firstly I have used the simple template that came with PP (v 1.5final).

I didn't like the light version so removed that option so that only the dark is viewable. It appears to work fine, but are there any issues with having removed that piece of code? I did it in IE but when I checked it in firefox it showed up in the 'light' version until I refreshed, so I am not sure if the light was just cached from previous viewing - could someone please check for me?

Secondly, what colour is the dark - I have two monitors, one it shows as a brownish colour, the other a greyish (and no, neither monitors are calibrated which is a bit of a problem).

Lastly, and probably most important, after failing to be able to reverse the process, I have removed the 'previous' and 'next' navigation options and just added text advising to click on the image to go to the next one. I'll admit to having been confused with photoblog navigation in the past and just giving up in frustration, and I figure that non-photoblog users (ie my prospective customers) might get frustrated and give up as well.

I guess what I would like to know here, is although it seems simple and easy for me, am I likely to have created problems by not having those navigation options (eg with other browers?).

The url is currently http://michellewrighton.com/index.php although when I figure how to do it I will change the home page to just http://michellewrighton.com

Edit: Don't laugh, I told you I wasn't very experienced at this, but I have now deleted the index.php one

Thanks!

Michelle

You need to remove the following from your template files:
HTML Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/simple/styles/light.css" title="light" />
<link rel="alternate stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/simple/styles/dark.css" title="dark" />
and replace it with
HTML Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/simple/styles/dark.css" title="dark" />

Removing the next and previous links is fine. there will be no issues at all as long as your viewers know to click the image.

Thankyou! I have replaced the code as you suggested. I also fixed up the image template as I had removed the code that allowed the notes to be seen.

So far it seems to be working well in both IE and firefox, so fingers crossed it will saty that way

Cheers

Michelle
