Version 1.6 and Exif

Thanks for the new version, it upgraded without any problems, except .....

With v1.5 I had trouble with photos that included the Exif data. I could upload and see the thumbnail version but not the full sized version. By removing the Exif from the JPG photo all was well.

Now if I include the Exif data the photo will not even upload. I don't even see the thumbnail. Remove the data and once again all is well.

I am not bothered too much, I will just remove the exif when I save the photo in its Pixelpost version. I just thought that you would like to know that I at least still have some problems with the Exif. Not a big deal.

Many thanks once again

Neil

Neil, please send me a photo with exif data. Perhaps I can fix it for the 1.6.1 release.

I have two photos prepared, one with and one without EXIF data. Sorry, but I do not know how to attach them to an email using this system. Do I just enter the URL by hand. At the moment the photos are on my own computer, not on my web-site.

Thanks

Neil

Neil, thanks for sending the photo's. However, I cannot reproduce the bug. If I upload the file all goes smoothly. I might add I use the flashcrop addon for making thumbnails.

I even see the exif info:

Quote:
Camerafabrikant: Canon
Cameramodel: Canon PowerShot A610
Belichting: 1/100 sec
Diafragma: f 4.1
Brandpuntsafstand: 29.2 mm
ISO:
Flitser: Aan:
No iso value but it seems it is not there.

That is interesting. I have tested again. If I upload the Oscar file with no EXIF it works OK. If I try to upload the Oscar file with EXIF included nothing happens. The program looks to be uploading but when it has finished there is no new photo. No thumbnail appears.

With version 1.5 I got a new thumbnail when I uploaded a photo with EXIF included but clicking on the thumbnail opened an empty screen. With both v1.5 and v1.6 if I remove the EXIF data before I upload it all works OK.

I have tried updating the EXIF data in ADMIN and switching it on and off but nothing works.

I do not know about the flashcrop addon. What does it do?

Anyway, as I said in my first post it does not really matter. I can happily remove the EXIF data for all photos which I intend to use in Pixelpost. I am still very pleased with the program.

Neil

Yeah but still it kind off bothers me. But since we tested it on multiple setups we can not reproduce the problem. Not reproducing makes fixing quite hard.
