Since upgrading to 1.6 I have tried various combination of templates and comment settings, but they all seem to post automatically. I have disabled comments, required moderation first, and tried a couple of different templates (Horizon and my old template that I've been using) and nothing seem to have any effect.
My only option left seems to be take the comments code completely out of the templates and have no comments at all. Can anyone suggest a reason why the comment controls seem to be ineffectual for me? adam |

and moderating comments too!

Okay, this is getting beyond annoying. I disabled comments in the admin panel and it does nothing. I commented out the comments section in the image php page and it does nothing. I changed the name of the comments php function file and the entire photoblog fails.
I need a solution here. At this point I'd be content just to not have any comments at all but have a functioning site. |

Okay, I kept poking around the Wiki and the forums and finally found something that makes it clear. I need to go and change the settings for all the OLD images. I don't see a way to do this en mass, so it looks like I'm going to be sitting here manually changing about 500 images. Ugh.

You will find the "mass" setting under the OPTIONS menu in your admin panel.

The setting above will only work for new images, not for the old ones. Since version 1.6 you can decide for each picture what you want to do with the comments.
You can change the settings during the upload, but you can have a global setting. That setting is displayed above. I can whip up an SQL query (or an addon) which allows you to change all comments setting for each picture? Something like this: disable commenting on all pictures with previous setting "sent to moderation queue"

This would be incredibly useful. I have 606 images in my photoblog at this point and it's killing me to go through each one individually and set it to "Send to Moderation" because the default was, oddly, to let them all pass. |

I was not able to test it thoroughly but it should do no harm anyway. If you feel paranoid, i suggest making a backup of your database. This will only work with version 1.6.0 and above. Also, this will only set old comments with no settings found. This should not effect any newly uploaded photos using Pixelpost v1.6 If you get any warning messages or notices at all, please let me know. v0.2 is the most recent version and the bug found by Schonhose has been rectified. Global Comment Settings v0.2
