If you have questions, please open a new thread for the question;=)

but because you are here and put your question already:

as it is written in the file:
you need the name of the host where the database is located
the name of the database
the name of the login
the password of the login

and
Quote:
$pixelpost_db_pixelpost = "replace_me"; // database
this means you must enter the name of the database

your hoster must give you all this information

I noticed the PixelPost v1.3 does not contain any folders named images & thumbnails. I created them myself and it worked. Maybe its better to include in the pack [or it could confuse idiots like me]

friends,

for this you must use the FTP-program which you use for uploading as well

so, when you tell us you don't know how to do it, please tell us at least which FTP-program you use

CuteFTP: right-click on the folder, choose : PROPERTY/CHMOD
DirOpus: right-click on the folder, choose: PROPERTIES or SET ATTRIBUTES

all FTP-programs offer this functionality
mostly when right-clicking on the folder

then you mostly have the choice to enter some numbre (777) or to check some boxes, for thumbnails and images we need all rights, so check all boxes or enter 777

but, as I found out, it could be helpful to add some information on that in the FAQ, please as we are just betatesting the new version, give us time to do that..

the new version has a more detailled installation-how-to

Batty, this should be a separate thread but ok,

if you set the permission and you see the permissions in the FTP-dialog, but still get the problem when you upload the files using the upload from PixelPost Admin-Area,

it might be that your hoster does not allow a script to move in another directory (the uploaded file is moved from a temporary directory into /images-directory)

that is a restriction, set by the hoster, very often

you might ask the support of your hoster if there are such restrictions
or you might find some information about these restrictions in the information which the hoster delivers at his support pages

good luck
