Pixelpost Documentation (Input Needed)

As some of you know, the documentation has slowly slipped to the back burner and we're not too happy about it.

I'm here to bring the documentation back up to par. The only problem is, I don't know where to start

What I'd like to know is, what do you feel would be most helpful to you? What areas are lacking the most?

Let me know and I'll get started on the most pressing matters first.

I'm not sure what the most pressing issues are, but there are quite few questions that get asked here quite frequently. Updating the wiki with these, or creating a FAQ page would be a good idea from a support perspective.

Also, if you're looking for volunteers to help with the documentation, you can sign me up. I'd be glad to help.

dwilkinsjr, I see you're working on PP documentation. I suggest official documentation be kept in a centralized location, whether it be on a public wiki or a site restricted to the PP team. In saying this, I do not mean to belittle your work, I simply think it is easier for new users pursue information from one location. In the event that your guide is a private one, I suggest linking to it from a centralized site much like the wiki is already doing on the bottom of the installation section (see the link on the bottom to Hakstege.net).

I've taken the liberty to update step one of the installation section. I clarified the original step and added an example. You can see the changes here. If PP would like me to continue editing the wiki, I will. I see plenty of changes that can be made to assist new users.

Thank you for your input! It's much appreciated.

We are currently working on central documentation.

The documentation on my website is temporary. I added some style and threw them up so i can reference them in all the support posts.

The current documentation which is in the works will blow away all existing documentation by far.

Again, thanks for your support.

You can continue editing the current WIKI if you wish.

This page was incorrect. I edited it.

In PP 1.6.0, the "Coming Soon! Nothing to show. No image to show here!" message still displays by default when no images are uploaded.

In whatever centralized documentation is ultimately compiled, I would feature an explanation of this message more prominently. This is likely the first message users will encounter upon successfully installing PP and attempting to view their page for the first time.

On a side note, when went to my PP main page for the first time, I was expecting the template to have loaded, despite the fact that I had yet to upload any photos. A useful approach of some other blogs and content management systems is that a sample demonstration post is automatically generated upon successful installation. I would recommend a similar approach for PP. Make the automatic generation of a sample post part of every installation. A low-resolution demonstration photo, perhaps with some text designating it as such, would be included in this.

Keep up the fine work. Wiki contributions are always welcomed.

Thank you for the suggestion, we'll certainly talk it over though I doubt to see something like this until 2.0 which seems light years away so we won't go into detail just yet.
