Exif date doesn't work

Trying to upload pictures and I want to use their original date. Have checked manually and the exif date on the files are correct, but the current date and time are always used anyway. How come? Isn't this supposed ro work when "Use exif date" are marked? A general info check reveals this:
EXIF Pixelpost is using exifer v1.5 for EXIF-information.

Managed to get it working by following the instructions in this thread:

How come this hasn't been changed to the current available version?

If we have to update the download for all small bugs and new features the download would have changed a lot. The most important reason is because we established the 1.6 release and we take it from there. If we changed the download all the time it is hard to provide support because everyone has a different version.

I wouldn't call the exif bug a small bug, it affects the entire uploading of pictures. I believe it's like that on other programs, bugs are fixed and bundled in a new version (with a small change of product version) and then it's just for those that are having problems to stay updated with the latest version.

Well in my opinion the exif bug is a rather small bug and doesn't affect the entire uploading of pictures. It only affects the uploading of the picture using the exif date as posting date.

Other uploading options are unaffected so when you say it "affects the entire uploading of pictures" I strongly disagree. Furthermore, to make it work you have to add one line. Only one extra line compared to the 1000+ lines of code involved in Pixelpost.

Are you aware of the possibility to change the posting date in the "Edit picture settings" in the admin panel?

I agree with you that bugs are fixed, new functionality is added and a new version number is slapped on the package before releasing it into the wild. When you talk about only bugfixes you can update stuff relatively easy, but we actually add new and improved features in Pixelpost. In our opinion these have to be tested before releasing it into the wild.

In software development it is normal that bugs are bundled and then a new version is released. Only in case of major bugs we would consider releasing an intermediate version. But like I said, this is a minor bug and we haven't had many support questions about this. Therefore, an intermediate version update is not in order.

But in the next version this small bug will be fixed and some new features are introduced. So in the future you'll be all set. And since you applied the bugfix yourself you're already set. Enjoy working with Pixelpost.

I disagree with you there. There are many people that want their pictures to be dated when they were actually taken, and all of those has to manually change to code to be able to do that.

Funny thing is you're speaking about many people. So far we have received a whopping 2 request for a fix with your request being the latest.

Hence, small bug.

And so far 100% have been able to find and apply the fix without any problems.
