Smile Limiting Thumbnails in the Archive (version 1.5)

I am having a heck of time trying to figure out how to minimize the total number of thumbnails that show up in the archive gallery. Currently I have around 250 thumbs and I have had a few people point out that it is taking quite a bit of time to load. I looked and looked late into the night yesterday and could not figure out what tags I need to be using. I tried several add ons however they did not seem to work property (maybe not compatible with my version of PP?).

Basically I just want may 25-50 thumbs to load and then have page numbers so that viewers can pick and choose what they want to view. Can anyone walk me through this by pointing me to the specific file and tags that I should be using? Here is a link to my gallery page: http://paxtonprints.com/index.php?x=browse

I just wanted to add that I am also getting a blank page (page not found) when I try to change the number of images loading in the addons section of the admin.

Thanks in advance!

Steve

You will need to use the Paged Archive tags, rather tan the standard thumbnail tag.

Here is a link that shows the available tags:

Thank you Jay. I have read several threads mentioning just that...however I am at a loss as to why it is not working for me. The first problem is that I get a blank page when I try to adjust the thumb count in the admin (under the add ons section). I don't why this happens. Everything else seems to work fine.

The second is that I could really use specific directions on how to limit the thumbs (like which specific tags I should be using and where they should be placed). I am not that up to speed with the different PP tags and can't seem to figure this one out. I realize a lot of PP users are very adept at this, but I am a little bit at a loss. Any specific intstructions you (or anyone else) can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Bottom line is that I just want about 15-20 thumbs showing per page and page number links so that people can cruise around at their leisure.

steve, did you end up figuring out how to solve this?
As I would love to be able to limit the thumbs on the browse/archive page as well.

thanks
Kevin
