Here's a shot...

This is one of several shots I am submitting as part of an architectural 3-4 shot study for an online photography course I'm taking.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

id try to move my framing so as many edges of the subjects lined up right on the edge of the photo frame as possible, and go back and shoot at a more even lit time of day. Exposure is fine though...its just the half shadow half lit thing that bothers me...

in my 35mm black and white photo classes I took last year, my teachers always drilled me to go back and revisit your subject in as many different lighting situations as possible, then, after good practice and understanding of using the sun's light, you leanr to just know when the subject is lit right at which time of day...

my first assignment I had to photograph a tree, at ever possible time of day that I could over the course of a week...I learned more from that than most of my assignments. I forgot the name of the artist, he used to photograph monuments...but he would walk RIGHT up to it, photograph all around it from every angle, in every light situation on that given day, figure out what was best...then go back and make the photo he wanted on the next similar day...

While I agree about the alignment thing, and on the general need to shoot under lots of different lighting conditions, I disagree on the lighting for this shot. I like it. The angle of the light brings out the textures beautifully.

I find myself wanting to know more; what is this beer can house?

In Houston, there is a house in an older neighborhood that is covered in flattened out beer cans. The owner did this to his own house over the course of years, and it has become a piece of Houston culture.

I'll put up some more views of the house over the week.

Thanks for the feedback!!!
