...ehrm...

Hi!, I don't speak english very well, so excuse me if I don't express myself correctly...
I've worked very hard in my photoblog (it's here), doing deep changes in the templates, the index.php file, etc., and now I see you released a new version, and I suppose I have to do all the changes again... buff! :S! my question is: ¿are the security issues in 1.3 version so important that I MUST upgrade right now? I can't stand in front of my screen 3 more weeks again tunning the new version xDD
Help me please :P

Saludos a todos y un abrazo.
Thanks: Parka.

saludos!

well, if you want more than one image a day, you should upgrade
if you want more than category for one image, you should upgrade
if you want a better encoded, encrypted password, you should upgrade
if you want to have password recovery, you should upgrade

but you must not change all your templates as the existing tags are still there!

it's up to you
if you are satisfied with version 1.3, why not?

yeah, you're right, I shouldn't worry about templates... but... but my hacks!! xD oh, my holy holy hacks...
It's all I'm not experienced on php, and since I begun with pixelpost I've learnt a lot because of reading the php docs and asking everybody over all the forums over the world xD to hack my pixelpost to adjust it to my needs..., but it's cost a lot of days "making the monkey"...

But... damn! I'll try the 1.4v out and evaluate wich one I like more...
xD
Thank you de todas formas.
See you!

Parka,

I really enjoy seeing so much people increasing their PHP-knowledge because they are attracted by this script

but: the script was meant to work from the box and to be so easy....
and so many people start to hack it.

I think the best would be not to hack and modify but to use ADDONS in the future so it won't be too difficult to update!

good luck y mucho suerte! (<= is this right?)

Connie

I'll remember what you say next time, so everything will be easier ^^
Thank you very much.

P.S.: the correct way would be: "Mucha suerte".
See you!

@Parka: If you want find all hack which you've done try to use some soft called DIFF. It's made for software developers and it's for finding differences between parts of code.

Unpack oryginal PP 1.3, start diff with it and your current PP. At the end you'll get all hacks you've made.
Thanks to that it should be easy to add them to PP 1.4 (if they are necessary)

I'm trying to upgrade now, from 1.3 to 1.4, but I'm stuck at the 3rd line allready....

Quote:
open the pixelpost.php of your PixelPost 1.3 - installation, take the database-information
from there and enter it into the \includes\pixelpost.php

Be sure to enter the same "table-prefix" which you used for your 1.3-installation !!!!

for example:
"$pixelpost_db_prefix = "pixelpost_"; // table prefix, leave as is unless you want to install multiple blogs on the same database"
Where / how do I have to change this in the index.php...?

Thanx for your help
