RSS Feed Timezone adjustment

This may not apply to everyone. ( i post from UK, hosted in US)

My RSS feed displays the actual post time of the image, if I am adjusting 5 hours to compensate for being hosted in the US and I post it late just before the date change.........it shows in the next day.

So as a fix.

I removed " $datetime .= ' ' .$tzoner; " from the index.php file at around line 581.

It now works a treat an shows the intended post time in the RSS feed.

Just incase anyone else had the same prob.

I don't get it. RSS feed should show the actual time based on your location. if it does not do so it's a bug.

please describe the RSS behavior for me.

ok here goes....

When I posted an image say at 1am on sunday morning......I type into the image posting section a time of 22:00 on saturday hrs to make it appear for saturdays post.......( I have had to do this to move 100+ historical images over from another piece of software for historical days).

This also has a timezone difference uk to us

The image shows up as saturday as instructed to......but the rss feed showed me 1am sunday.

So if I post a few historical ones...they all appear to be on the same day.

Make sense ?

I use rssreader and sage (built into firefox) and both showed the actual post time and not the intended "show time".

So i removed the code above to make it appear to be posted on the right day.

Now Im typing this, Im wondering if this makes the local reader think that its local time....hmmmm

All I have to do now is work out how to import haloscan comments from the xml dump I can get of the comments into pixelpost.....as my site is using haloscan atm with pixelpost.

Have a look at the rss feed and see what it shows at your end of the world.

The rss feed is standard url and there is another one identical from my old software that I dump from the dynamic one for all those people out there that have my feed stored.

old feed http://www.skinnybuzzard.com/index.xml

thanks for the reply raminia [/url]

that was me, my name must have ran off!!

Just re-read above noticed I said appeared on same day, that was my prob in 1.3....this prob was the timezone adjustment wasnt carrying over to the rss feed.....sorry If I confused anyone, ignore appearing on same day.

Im thinking this may be down to local times and how rss feed readers interpret them, dont look to much into it raminia its not a problem really, maximum it will be incorrect is 24hrs.....just mentioned it incase anyone else was wondering the same.
