XML-RPC would it be useful?

Does any1 think that XML-RPC addon is good idea to work on in near future??
Some of ppl will ask what it is and what for.

Shortly: It's service based on HTTP protocol and XML doctype which enable platform and OS independent watching if in our blog are some newer data.

More info:
http://www.xmlrpc.com/
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&a...;q=xmlrpc+blog

PS Basing on it we can make PP community with easy accessible informations about last updated pblogs.

It would actually be interesting to add XML-RPC interfaces to posting like some other blogs. I would love to work on some desktop software to do posting

If we do it though, you should probably use a user-space xml-rpc package instead of the compiled in one though because most default PHP installs don't include it. If you want to work on it and need any help, get in touch with me, I have done a fair amount of work on xml-rpc interfaces for software (client and server) and soap too if you are into it. That might actually be a cool addon, an interface to get the latest additions and desktop software to show you the latest on all your favorite PP sites.

I was thinking only about serverside of XML-RPC in PixelPost but your idea is more interesting.

I don't have big experience in developing GUI based Windows applications a specially bilding them from start :P So that is a reason why I would be able to concentrate on serverside topic.

Building GUI apps is what I do for a living now, so I can help out there

BTW, welcome to the dev team. I just saw the announcement in the dev forums. I checked out your site, we have a lot in common.

Yes this would be a good idea, I would be particularly interested in XML-RPC interfaces for uploading pictures and before that authentication...

I would also prefer it to be kept simple (read REST not SOAP) as far as lastest updates go - the RSS and ATOM feeds with Pings are the right way to go may be we should enhance them.

It'd be nice to use an XML-RPC desktop program like Ecto to upload posts. It's not a burning itching swelling need for me, because the web admin interface is just fine. But for those who have a MT or WP blog too, it could be convenient.

I use ecto for my WP blog, and it would indeed be convenient to be able to use it for PP too.
