different front page

I just made a new lay-out for my photoblog, and in the process I also made a custom front page. I think some of you might like the idea.

check it out

The first 'block' is a thumbnail of the latest image with a brief description.

The second features the latest picture (or maybe in the future a random picture, haven't decided yet) posted in a category that I use to showcase the best images. This ensures that there is always a good picture on the front page, even if, for some reason I might decide to post a weaker one.

The third shows six older thumbnails with brief descriptions.

An additional advantage may be that people who don't have any idea what a photoblog is (sounds hard to believe, but they exist ) get some clues.

P.S. I'm not sure how the whole thing looks in IE; I haven't been anywhere near a windows computer for quite some time, but eventually I will fix problems, if there are any.

Looks great man. Nice work. I love the tab look of it and the use of the thumbnails is great. I just checked it out on IE and the tab doesn't even show and the thumbnails are poorly aligned. I'm sure you'll be able to fix that. Other than that, sweet site and hope you release a template like this.

Thanks, could you tell me which version that is? I just heard from someone else it looked OK-ish in IE7. I'll think about the template.

Looks good on a Mac in Firefox and Safari. The only problem is that I can not see the full image when you are posting portrait size photos. When looking at your frog image for example, I have to scroll; my screen resolution is 1440x900px. Apart from this, I like your template.

The photos are great by the way.

Thanks.

I'm on a mac 1440x900px dislpay myself and I don't have a problem with the scrolling.

Quite a lot of time has passed and I've changed the lay-out quite a bit as well, but I also tried to make it work reasonably in IE... So let me know how it's working ...

Anyone who's on Windows, please? Could you tell me if it's working in IE 6/7?
