Smile New Template: Switchy

Switchy is a new template that changes its layout dependent on the orientation of the photo. It's not a really flashy template with javascripty stuff but displays everything in a pretty clean way.

Here's a demo

Congratulations, it's an awesome idea. I'll use your template on my photoblog soon as an alternative template for the choice of visitors.

Hey Kevin,

Great looking template this one - I like it! Is it missing the "Add Comments" button though? Not hard to fix, but just wanted to let you know.

Thanks for this!

Oops - good catch - I also found another issue with the comments at the same time that are now fixed in the latest version. Thanks for letting me know.

Thumbs up Nice template

Really like the way that the picture is displayed when it is portrait or landscape format...

Great template Kevin - like Fred, I love the way it switches formats to accommodate the image. Bravo!

Using Switchy with Image Reflection Generator?

@kevincrafts: Thanks for sharing such a great theme! I'm brand new to Pixelpost and the timing of this theme couldn't have been any more perfect. It's just what I was looking for!

When toying with your theme, I thought it would be a perfect candidate for using the image reflection generator addon. I've thrown together my own test/demo site where I've added it in, however what I'd like to see is the image description, EXIF information etc moved back up so the reflection subtly shows through underneath the text.

Here's a demo of how it looks now with the text below the reflected image.

Any ideas on how this might be implemented?

I'm not that familiar with that addon, but you could try putting it as a background to the table cell that contains the image title, caption, etc (in the hphoto) table with css so it does not repeat.

@kevincrafts: Thanks for the idea. I've managed to implement it using divs for the landscape aspect. I'm not sure if I'll bother with the portrait layout aspect - we'll see. Thanks again!

Atlas88, you need to comment out this line in your code:
HTML Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="templates/switchy/js/styleswitcher.js"></script>
Otherwise it will still try to load the Light template for new visitors to the site.
