print services

My buddy is trying to start up his own freelance photography business. He's in the market for a printer for his clients. He can print proofs and tear sheets on his own printer, but for final prints for clients he wants a quality print. (so would I)

Anyone have any preferred printers? Online submission of files would be a plus.

i use this:

http://www.snapfish.com/

the quality even up to poster size has been fab - but naturally this isn't pro stuff - this is for the normal photography consumer. nonetheless the quality is great and service fab. i use them in the UK and have sold prints by them so i don't doubt them.

Well for a full online service I have worked with http://www.photoreflect.com which includes galleries, ordering and printing, works better for more shoot for sales event type stuff.

http://www.kodakgallery.com which was formally ophoto.com is pretty rock solid and probably the most known

snapfish has had good reviews as well

I like Photoreflect.com because it's easy to use and full of features. Also Photoreflect.com has a very fair policy towards money and taxes.

what i would love to see is integration of one of these services directly into pixelpost. Or atleast some sort of order form that emails you the order and processes the money via paypal or something.

well, you can write an addon for that. But nevertheless most people upload a lower resolution on their blogs so they are not suitable for printing.

haha, i'd love to write an order form plugin... however I lack the technical skill and time to do something to that degree.. So the best I can do is put the idea out there and hope someone takes the bait.

I know Gallery2 software had a similar plugins, and the Digibug printing service has an API to let people order direct off your site and send your image files direct, but your right. no one really host that large of an image on their own server
