Since defensio is installed I get more spam

Since I have installed defensio, I got lots of spam, I never had spam before. Defensio do the job but Is there something with defensio wrong... no mean the addon but the site defensio it-self.

It is very frustrationg to get spam grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

if you don't like it, stop using it. Free world and all. I don't understand your post: first you say Defensio does the job, then you say there is something wrong with Defensio.

I'm confused. What is it?

Secondly, if you never had spam what did you use before and why did you switch to Defensio? If I never would have spam I would be happy. Ow wait... I don't and guess what: I solely use Defensio. And sure, it has a a learning curve but after that it is rock solid. You got to give it time. And yes, you will see the SPAM in the Defensio Quarantine but this might change in the future. Please remember Defensio is still young, when the algorithm has had enough opportunity to learn we can even go as far as not writing the comment in the database.

And if you have problems with Defensio and its not related to the PP addon this is most certainly not the place to complain about. I suggest you contact the guys at Defensio and tell them about your problems with the site. They might do something with it.

I didn't want to complain about the addon.

Before I was not using any of the addon suggested on the site. Running my site without any defensive methode and never had spam. It is just since I turned 'on' the addon that I got spam. I just find this weird. I know that the addon defensio do the job perfectly I can see it in the admin panel.

So here was my tought, it is possible that the defensio 'engin' if I can call it like that that have any thing with my spaming now?

anyway I didn't want to make any complain I was just an idea or an observation regarding defensio addon or defensio site.

No I am not suggesting that enabling addon draws spamm, this is obvious. No I have just say that as a weird thing happening. I will still have the addon enable. but my questionning was just that it was weird that I have received spam just since I have enable it. anyway close that tread it already goes to far now....

Something to add here.. I did the PP upgrade today.. Previously, I received 1 spam per week.

In the last 3 hours since upgrading I've received 15.

I'll keep searching, but suggestions?

Guys, it is completely ridiculous to think that upgrading to a particular version or enabling an addon automatically attracts more spam.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that enabling an addon or upgrading "attracts more spam", but THAT I can't see it being a simple coincidence... The problem still remains that when I was using 1.6 (i think) I received 1 spam per week and now I've received over 30 in the last 24 hours.

I am using the Akismet addon that comes with 1.7 & the TOKEN tag.

I have problems viewing the SPAM CONTROL part of the admin page, as it's got dropdowns but no text next to it.. No idea what it all means.

Make sure you uploaded all the files (like index.php and such) Sometimes users miss a file.
