category
in index.php where you set $image_categoryword you make reference to $image_category which is never defined anywhere as far as i can tell.

is there a reason for not letting users delete the default category?

yes! there is!
you cannot delete the default category anymore just renaming it!

it makes prbolems in admin panel! don't deleete it.
