Unhappy Strange behaviour with the Photo Stream

I'm with th last version 1.013 of Dark Matter and my photo stream (Carrousel) have a strange behaviour…
First, when arriving to the lasts photos by clicking to the right, the lasts photos superimposes itselves, and one clic again and continuing with a black banner with nothing in it and it's impossible to go to the left.

Two, I never see the word in red "END" when arriving at the end of the photos…

Any advice ?

To see the phenomenon, it's here : http://www.lepetit.org/Tests/pixelpost/index.php

@pinkasimov I've seen this weirdness at a few people's sites. It seems to be working ok in MOST cases, including my own two development environments which makes it hard to debug for me. I CAN tell you one thing: The caroussel is datetime based. This means arrow right travels back in time, showing all thumbs ordered by posting date.

Can you please check your Image Display order in Options?

Please set it to [Date and Time for the entry] [descending order]

Changing this is likely to disrupt the caroussel in weird ways. Can you take a look at it?

I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make the caroussel work right with all possible combinations of settings.

Let me know what you find as this may be the cause of the weirdness on some people's sites (including yours)

@Kilkim thanks for the compliment!

What exactly is wrong with your Album and Mosaic pages? Is it a look and feel issue? The pages do seem to work for me.

There could be CSS tweaks required to make plugins that add extra pages work the way you want them to with Dark Matter. I think this is the case for all themes though.

Cool

Well Marco, in fact that's already set like that, [Date and Time for the entry] [descending order].
Does the fact that when I upload my image, I don't publish them immediately ?

That shouldn't really matter as long as there's no large sets of images with the EXACT same date/time on them.

Very, very odd...

I am having the EXACT problem as yours. Do you have any other ADDONS installed? Maybe we can compare notes...

I just upgraded to 1.71 today from 1.60, and I could not figure out what is wrong.

I have tried to disable ALL ADDONS I have, still once I upload the addon dm_support.php, and click on ADDONS link, it just shows the header with no addon displayed.

Marco,
Please help. Your template is the best I've ever seen: artistic, powerful, clean... best for presentation.
PS, where can I send a donation?

Ok guys I really want to help out with the latest two problems. It's however hard from just forum messages. To start with:

Can one of the people who has the add-on problem email me their copy of the add-on? Maybe it will tell me what's wrong with it.

Secondly, for the carousel problem I need a volunteer who will give me shell / database access to their server as I have absolutely no idea how to reproduce this problem. It doesn't occur on my server nor on my local box.

Let me know who wants to help out!

As for donations: It's greatly appreciated! The info is in the README file: send it to paypal@i-marco.nl on PayPal.

Thanks again!

Hi Marco,

The addon problem is gone! All I did was to finish all your OTHER steps, then enabled that addon, now it works. I don't know why.

One suggestion:
On the ABOUT page, the text is light grey color and it is very hard to read. Could you please help refine the css to give it a couple of more text style/color so that the ABOUT page is easier to read, and maybe provide us a template of ABOUT?

I know I am asking too much. But you are the expert with taste, so I better try to ask...

Hi Pengrus, I now understand why you had the add-on problem. Thing is, the add-on uses two files that reside in the templates/darkmatter directory. If it doesn't find those files it cannot do it's job. I will make some changes to it that display an error message explaining what's going on to the user to make this more obvious.

As for the about page: The CSS rule is:

#about-content {
color:#999;
}

You could change it to #ccc for example to make it lighter.

Hope this helps!

bigger logo and IMAGE INFO tab position

TheMarco,

I'm trying to change the current logo.png with my own banner image (no problem there) .

I can't figure out where to set the vertical position of the IMAGE INFO tab ... I've tried a few thing in your css and js but I can't find it.

Thanks
