Organizational addon?

My photo-a-day blog is getting unwieldy, and I would like to break it down, for example, by month. Maybe a sidebar where one could click a month and have all thumbs for that month show up?

I feel certain this must exist, but my searches are ineffective, probably because I don't know the right terminology. Any help would be appreciated!

Still not entirely sure where to start. I think I need to install THIS addon, is that correct?

And are there basic instructions somewhere about how? Like, where to put the code, what modifications, if any, I need to make to other files, etc? Or does everyone who uses this just know how to do it? Maybe I'm in over my head, LOL.....

OK, I am slow. After searching around here (unsuccessfully) to find instructions for how to install the addon, I only just now realize it's been here all along, in the original version of PP that I downloaded in November.

So, I turned ON the paged_archive addon. Still does nothing, no changes. After digging around some more, I guess I need to create an htaccess file from the "rewrite rules" code. Is that right? Is it true that I have NO htaccess file by default? It doesn't show up anywhere in my ftp client (Transmit), and I can't find an option to "Show all files." So I assume it's not there. I can create it and upload it, but I am hesitant in case there might be an invisible htaccess file there already, which I would overwrite and screw everything up. Any confirmation of this?

Thanks!

You don't need any .htaccess modifications to use the pagedarchive addon unless you want to rewrite your urls. Then you need to add the appropriate tags to your template files. The available tags are here: http://www.pixelpost.org/docs/Templa...chiveAddonTags

Then why isn't it working for me? Clearly, I need to do something other than just turn it on?

BTW, just checked your photoblog. Lots of killer work there.....love the tilt/shift of the parking lot w/ mountains in the background!
