new plog

Hi All,

I just got set up. Still have to tweak the template style a bit. I only have 5 or 6 pics up. Before I develop some bad habits here, I'd like some critisism on the general quality of the images, as well as the images themselves. All are film based, any alterations were via picasa (from blogger). Any and all advice is most welcome. (both technical and aethetics). Im a rookie and want to get it right (in my own way of course).

Thanks,
...O

they're all pretty awesome if you ask me. I'll leave some proper critique or at least some comments on them at a later date.

do you scan from film or from print?

Thanks!

I scan from prints. But the pics from Washington St., were just put on a cd for me by the 1 hour photo dude, so I just use that. I have a lot of old stuff to post, but thats all about to change going forward. I just got my Nikon D70 - my 1st digital camera!

Fine photos. I particularly like the cropping, for example on the bike and the beach.

But I'm not sure I like the hover effect on the archive. To me it seems to suggest that I MUST hover to see the thumbnail clearly, and then I may not feel like viewing it. But that's just me.
